Hamburger Mary's
After Dine Out at Griffins, we were looking for a place to have drinks and chat. We walked along Granville and Davie for several minutes in the freezing cold, and quickly found out that most places close early on Sunday night. We ended up going to Hamburger Mary's, a diner with the words "OPEN 22 HRS" across the storefront. We ordered a pitcher of raspberry margarita ($16.99) to share. The appearance was unappealing enough as the drink had separated into 2 layers. We squeezed in some lime juice and gave it a stir. We all agreed that it tasted nothing like a margarita. In fact, it tasted like it was made from an instant drink mix. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a pitcher of Kool-Aid with alcohol.
Ka and I both wanted something to munch on, so we got an order of hand cut fries ($4.99) with gravy ($1.69). The fries were ok, and I think the gravy was chicken gravy. Not bad, but not good either.
I didn't try any other foods, so I can't really comment on general food quality. The margarita was horrible, but I heard they have decent milkshakes. Maybe I'll try that next time.
