Mondo Burger Bar
I'm not crazy over burgers, but one item on the menu caught my eye: BBQ chicken burger ($7.95) with house made watermelon BBQ sauce. A sauce made with watermelon? That sounds interesting. Since I didn't want a beef burger anyway, I decided to try it out. The bun was lightly toasted with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato and sauce inside. I couldn't taste the watermelon in the sauce, but it was slightly sweet and very refreshing.
My dad ordered the philly dog ($5.95) with melted cheddar, chopped onions and mustard. I didn't try it, but he said it was really good.
We wanted to get some yam fries but they were sold out, so I added a half order of fries ($1.50) to my burger. The portion was not bad for a half order, and the fries were served hot and well-cooked.
I was going to get a sangria, but was told that they had no fruits other than apples. I ended up getting the raspberry cream soda. It wasn't spectacular, but it was a refreshing cold drink.
I really liked the chicken burger, and the fries were done very nicely too. Hope to revisit sometime.
