Qoola (Aberdeen)
I had a light lunch at Qoola in Aberdeen: an organic wheat waffle, a mango smoothie and samples of 3 different yogurt flavours. The waffle was not soft and fluffy at all. It was kind of tough and chewy... I know it's supposed to be healthy and all that, but I'm not sure about using wheat flour to make waffles... Luckily the toppings (strawberries, blueberries, mochi) and syrup made it taste better.
The mango smoothie was ok... just a typical cold drink. It was pretty much just the mango flavoured yogurt put into a blender with ice, making it more like a slushie. I had to wait for it to melt as I was drinking.
The yogurt flavours I sampled were original, green tea and strawberry. All of them were quite tart, but all 3 flavours were pretty good. I liked green tea the most :)
The yogurt was the best part of the experience. I wouldn't recommend getting the waffle or any other non-yogurt related foods here.

Was the waffle freshly made? Sometimes, they make it and then put it in the oven to keep it warm... and that can make it chewy.
ReplyDeleteI think I like my waffles crisp on the outside, but soft on the inside. I haven't made waffles in a very long time, actually......
